Finnish manufacturer Elektrobit came up with the new EB Satellite/Terrestrial Reference PDA Phone (the actual name of the handset). EB and TerreStar are working to bring to market the world's first quad-band GSM and tri-band WCDMA/HSPA smartphone reference design with integrated satellite-terrestrial voice and data capabilities in a compact form factor. It will be a fully IP-based satellite handset reference design using high speed packet data. The smartphone reference design will have a touch screen and a full QWERTY keyboard.
